After just two weeks off the WRC has re-crossed the Atlantic and is back in Europe for the sixth round of the season. No Fafeing about here, it’s time for Rally Portugal.

Rally Argentina can be summed up best by this YouTube video I found:

Ott Tanak put on what can only be described as an Ogier-esque performance, taking the lead on stage 5 and completely running away with it, winning 10 of 18 stages to take the rally by nearly 40 seconds. After seeing the last two visits to Argentina come down to a final stage battle, this kind of domination particularly stands out.

As for the fantasy league, we have a new leader. James Beckett scored his third runner up finish in five events to move ahead of Shane Hutton at the top of the order. There was movement all up and down the line as well, as 28 of the 34 positions changed hands.

And now it’s on to the soft but fast gravel roads of Portugal. Four drivers on this year’s entry list have won here (with Ostberg’s win being on a technicality after Hirvonen was disqualified in 2012), but the lion’s share of success has come to Ogier, who has hoisted the big trophy five times here. Andreas Mikkelsen hasn’t won in Portugal, but has the second best average points haul, finishing in the top four his last three visits and never finishing worse than sixth. This being 2018 though, it could be the drivers historically down the order that you need to keep your eye on. Or just do what I do and put all the names in a hat.

Want to see how you did last year and refresh yourself on the rules? Check this out right here. Here’s the official Entry List, and the current fantasy points spreadsheet. And while you’re at it, you can also look at the driver’s data and statistics here.
