The Catalunya Region in Spain is yet to become independent, and their former president currently has to stay in Germany. Despite the chaos, we’ll start the season in Barcelona with WorldRX and EuroRX this weekend!

The rallycross track based off the Circuit de Catalunya has been part of the WorldRX schedule 3 years already, usually providing good first and second corner action, but afterwards not much passing with the joker strategy mostly given. Before this season, the organizers have changed the track, moving the start to the part of the F1 track coming in after the tight hairpin (formerly T3). This is expected to make the start tighter and slower, introduce different joker strategies and induce more passing in the former T1 and T2. The track sees little change elsewhere, and the fastest lap times and stats from earlier years remain relevant.

TRACK DETAILS:
Tarmac/Gravel:
60 %/40 %
Length: 1133 m
Lap Record: 00:42.791 (Johan Kristoffersson)
Former Winners: Mattias Ekström (2016, 2017), Petter Solberg (2015)

Despite the win from Petter Solberg in 2015, this can generally be considered a track where racing drivers do well. Mattias Ekström has won here twice, with Timmy Hansen and Johand pr Kristoffersson also generally doing well. Timo Scheider even impressed with second place here last year.

In addition to the permanent WorldRX entries, Chinese driver Ma Quingha joins Janis Baumanis in TEAM STARD for selected events this season. He has previously driven in WTCC, and was set for his WRC debut in China 2016 before the event was cancelled. Oliver Bennett makes his first start with a new Mini Cooper, also as part of a selected programme. Rallycross veteran Herve “Knapick” Lemonnier also enters this event. Doubling the amount of Supercar rallycross this weekend are the EuroRX field, where reigning champion Anton Marklund is among the favorites along with Thomas Bryntesson, Reinis Nitiss and JB Dubourg. There is a lot of new names here, so we might see some surprises along the way.

In order to enter Fantasy WorldRX, post your top 6 drivers in the comments section. You may only pick one driver from each team, but you may mix between WorldRX and EuroRX as you want. All the drivers available to pick is listed below, and the deadline is the start of Q1 saturday morning European time. All the rules, teams and other information are further described in the link below:
