We’re closing up on the halfway point of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, but first we’re going to what is probably the most popular event on the calendar: Höljes, Sweden.

Hell, Norway, where the last round took place, is almost as popular as the Swedish round and provided a good amount of action. Mattias Ekström was in the centre of most of it, getting a penalty after pushing Petter Solberg and a DNF after Q4. Amazingly he still got to the semifinals, on to the final and finished second between the winner Kristoffersson and the mentioned Solberg.

In our fantasy game BvdV - The Dutch Engineer took a round win only one point short of a perfect roster, while the others had more or less an average weekend. Kudos to Punkgoose who managed to put the drivers in the order they finished, earning 10 bonus points.

Almost straight across the border from Norway lies Höljes, a place with a Hydropower plant, a general store and a racetrack (everything you need in life). Once a year close to 50 000 people camp in the woods, watch racing and drink mind-boggling amounts of alcohol. The track is considered the most spectacular in the series, with two jumps, banked corners and lots of overtaking spots. This track has so many features, that you rarely see drivers come in and do well their first event here.

Lap record: 00:41.448 (Johan Kristoffersson)

With both WorldRX and EuroRX featuring here, the entry list is huge and more that can be mentioned than what I’ll do here. It’s quite simple in WorldRX though: Timo Scheider makes another wildcard entry with Münnich Motorsport, and that’s about it. In EuroRX we also find some additional drivers that may not feature at the very top of the list, with the exception of Oliver Solberg. The 16 year old son of Petter already wins rounds of RallyX Nordic, and is on the waiting list for this one. If he comes in, he’s a candidate to win in EuroRX. I’ll give further notice if he’s given the green light to enter.
