The FIA World Rallycross Championship goes to the country where it might be the most popular this weekend. 50 000 people, mostly crazy and/or drunk, are expected to show up to a rural track in Höljes, Värmland. This may also be the best track we see in this championship.

Closely followed by Hell, Norway of course, which hosted the previous round. Swede Johan Kristoffersson won in front of home favourite Andreas Bakkerud and Sebastien Loeb. Kristoffersson extended his championship lead over Mattias Ekström and Petter Solberg, despite injuring his foot before the event.

In our Fantasy League GiuRX continues his impressive form, bagging a huge 141 points with good picks from both WorldRX and EuroRX. TheTurbochargedSquirrel maintains his lead, but the gaps between players are quite even throughout the field and will get smaller once we start removing the bad rounds after Loheac.

Höljes is considered one of the most spectacular tracks on the calendar. It has two jumps, banked corners, steep curbs and a very threedimensional feel. Go play it in DiRT Rally/4 and you might get half the feeling what it is like.

TRACK DETAILS:
Length:
1210 m
Tarmac/Gravel: 60/40
Lap Record: 00:42.942* (Petter Solberg)
Previous Winners: Andreas Bakkerud (2016), Mattias Ekström (2014, 2015)

*Petters own son Oliver beat the lap record during testing this year, in the same car. He’s 15..

There are mainly three things you need to consider before deciding on the picks before Höljes:

1) PG Andersson may/may not replace Mattias Ekström in the EKS team due to the clash with DTM this weekend. Ekström has done well in DTM too this year, and Audi may think that DTM is more important.

2) OlsbergsMSE returns with Global Rallycross regulars Sebastian Eriksson and Oliver Eriksson. Sebastian Eriksson led the final here in 2014 before hitting the curbs too hard damaging the steering.

3) How many EuroRX drivers to pick. This track is trickier than most, and EuroRX drivers with less experience or driver capability may stuff it properly despite good results on other tracks. On the other had, you may score up to 150 points with the right picks and results.

The rules for participating in Fantasy WorldRX are simple. You pick six drivers from the entry list below and post them in the comments before the racing starts Saturday. You may only pick one driver from each team, but can mix drivers from WorldRX and EuroRX as you want. If your drivers score points in the same order as in your picks, you get an additional 10 points. If you want to do an in-depth analysis before picking, consult the WorldRX stats spreadsheet. You find all the supercar entries below.
