The entry of the upcoming round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship is so large that there are reserve lists for drivers that couldn’t get a spot. This means that you’ll have a whopping 60 drivers to choose from in the top class. Think about that for a second.

Last time in Canada I had to ask our founding father Dusty Ventures to do the preview. Little would I know that the research actually brought him and important snacks to the event itself! That’s dedication right there. As for the racing, Johan Kristoffersen and Petter Solberg dominated, while Seb Loeb got third. The biggest surprise of the weekend was that Andreas Bakkerud missed out of the semifinal for only the fourth time in his career.

Due to the same reason, the points scored in this round were low for all players, with TurboSquirrel taking the win at a low 83 points. GiuRX still leads, while Dusty were wrong in his preview prediction and sits in third. After the next round the worst score so far will be dropped, which means we might see a tighter table soon. Especially Lumpy44, Wheelerguy and MontegoMan may jump up the table, as they have missed previous rounds.

Loheac is one of the flatter tracks of the season, with smooth corners, lots of concrete/gravel and abrasive tarmac. The joker lap features a chicane combined with a jump, where some drivers opt for the sideways jump in order to have the fastest time. Peugeot-Hansen are often strong here, though it will be hard to choose between Loeb and Timmy Hansen. Same goes for the Volkswagen team, as both Kristoffersson and Petter Solberg have won here before. It’s also the round with the largest spectator count, with between 70-80 000 mad Frenchmen. That could be something to consider in your picks.

TRACK DETAILS:
Length:
1088m
Lap record: 00:36.658 (Andreas Bakkerud)
Previous winners: Johan Kristoffersson (2016), Timmy Hansen (2015), Petter Solberg (2014)

In addition to the regular WorldRX and EuroRX drivers, it is interesting that EKSRX have brought in a fourth driver. Nico Muller regularly drives in DTM, and after asking Mattias very nicely (probably begging) for a drive as well as washing tires in Barcelona last year he got a seat here. Not sure how that will turn out. Same goes for Alister McRae replacing Guy Wilks in the LOCO Energy Drink branded VW Polo. More interesting are the addition of Jonathan and Fabien Pailler in EuroRX, drivers that have good merits in that series from earlier years.

The rules for participating in Fantasy WorldRX are simple. You pick six drivers from the entry list below and post them in the comments before the racing starts Saturday. You may only pick one driver from each team, but can mix drivers from WorldRX and EuroRX as you want. If your drivers score points in the same order as in your picks, you get an additional 10 points. If you want to do an in-depth analysis before picking, consult the WorldRX stats spreadsheet. You find all the supercar entries below.

To follow the round from Loheac, tune in Sunday at 14:00 CEST on their YouTube site or the TV Channel broadcasting in your country.
