We’re continuing the busy part of the fantasy game season here at the Rally Takeover, with what might be the last time we will ever see FIA World Rallycross at Lydden Hill.

The birthplace of rallycross is not allowed to expand to meet the exceeding demands of the championship, and from next year the British round will be a festival at Silverstone rather than the grass field in Kent. Sad face. Should be quite important to become the last winner at this historic track then!

Last time at Mettet we saw the winning streak of Mattias Ekström become disrupted by Johan Kristoffersson who took a very deserved third ever WorldRX win. Timmy Hansen and Petter Solberg also finished in front of Ekström, meaning that the championship is getting quite tight again!

In our fantasy game GiuRX has started a winning streak, picking the perfect six drivers for Mettet gaining a whopping 113 points. They were not in the right order so bonus 10 points, but still. TheTurbochargedSquirrel retains his lead, and most of the other players scored similarly so things are still quite even.

Lydden Hill should be familiar to most of you through three years of WorldRX, appearances on Top Gear and finally the inclusion in DiRT Rally. It includes several sweeping corners with varying speed and a couple of braking points where passing is possible. The joker merge on gravel is especially exciting, though with the joker in the first corner the races have a tendency to be split in two.

TRACK DETAILS:
Length: 1170 m
Tarmac/Gravel: 60/40
Lap record: 0:40.848 (Petter Solberg)
Previous winners: Mattias Ekström (2016), Petter Solberg (2015), Andreas Bakkerud (2014)

We see one change in the permanent teams for this round, as rallycross newcomer Timo Scheider has other commitments and his car is raced by former British Touringcar Champion Andrew Jordan. Jordan reached the final here in 2014, and is back in a good car this weekend. EuroRX regular Ollie O’Donovan and BritishRX driver Oliver Bennett also enters in addition to names that should be familiar after the first four rounds this season.

The rules for participating in Fantasy WorldRX are simple. You pick six drivers from the entry list below and post them in the comments before the racing starts Saturday. You may only pick one driver from each team. If your drivers score points in the same order as in your picks, you get an additional 10 points. If you want to do an in-depth analysis before picking, consult the WorldRX stats spreadsheet. You find all the supercar entries below.

To follow the round from Lydden, tune in Sunday at 15:00 CEST on their YouTube site or the TV Channel broadcasting in your country. One hour later, probably welcomed by all the americans watching.
